There has always been a rare few that have transcended both sides of motorsport: both 2 and 4 wheels. The most famous of course is John Surtees, world champion on both, but we can also include Mike Hailwood, Bill Ivy, Jonny Cecotto, Barry Sheene and Rossi. For the Goodwood Revival in 2025, Works Racing teamed up with 5 x Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro for ‘the adventure’ and to honour these men. With aspirations focused on finishing and enjoyment, nervous tension started to grow when we finished in pole after qualifying. Race 1 was run in filthy conditions with a combination of heavy rain and an oily track. Just to survive was an achievement. But as the flag fell, the duo on Works Racing's development bike were in 3rd place and on the ‘box’! Incredible!
